- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 Cup salt
- 2 tbls cream of tartar
- 2 tbls vegetable oil
- 11⁄2 cups boiling water
- Food coloring (your choice of colors)

Directions
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir to combine.
Add in the vegetable oil. Stir until the mixture resembles a crumbly texture.
In a separate bowl or jug, add the boiling water. Add your chosen food coloring to the jug and mix until completely combined.
Gradually, start pouring the colored boiling water in the flour mixture while stirring consistently.
Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and starts to form a dough.
Once the dough has cooled down a bit, start kneading it with your hands until it becomes smooth and pliable. If the dough is still a bit sticky, add a little more flour and knead it until fully absorbed. Be careful, dough may be hot when first kneading it.
Now your play dough is ready! Store it in a zip-top plastic bag or airtight container when not in use to keep it fresh.
