Ginger liqueur

I usually make this ginger liqueur during the Christmas holidays.

  • 200 g fresh ginger Added to
  • 1 litre vodka Added to
  • 250 g sugar Added to
  • 1 Spoon Vanilla extract Added to

1. Step

Start by washing the fresh ginger well and slicing it into thin slices. Don't worry, you don't need to peel the ginger, the peel will give the liqueur extra flavour.

2. Step

Place the ginger in a large glass jar, add the sugar, vanilla extract and squeezed lemon juice. Mix well.

3. Step

Pour vodka over the container. Make sure the ginger is fully submerged.

4. Step

Close the jar and place in a dark and cool place for a month. Stir regularly to ensure that the sugar is completely dissolved.

5. Step

After a month, strain the ginger liqueur into a clean bottle. It is ready to drink, but its taste will improve with time.
