Delicious Mango Smoothie

A Mango Smoothie always takes me back to my childhood at my grandparents' house where mangoes were plentiful. This is a fresh, healthy and nutritious smoothie that is perfect to enjoy on a hot summer day. It's something I make often, especially when mangoes are in season. I really enjoy the tropical and refreshing flavor that mangoes bring.

Directions

10 min.
1. Step

Place all the ingredients in a blender, starting with the liquids (orange juice and almond milk). Ideally, put the liquids in first to help the blender blades move more easily.

2. Step

Add the banana and mango. If you ever have difficulty peeling a mango, I recommend cutting it into two halves, making an incision around the long stone of the mango, and then using a spoon to remove the pulp.

3. Step

Then add the yogurt. I personally prefer to use plain yogurt to soften the sweetness of the fruit, but a vanilla yogurt would also work well.

4. Step

If desired, you can add a tablespoon of honey or agave to increase the sweetness. However, if your fruits are already very ripe, you may not need it.

5. Step

Finally, add the ice cubes. I recommend this step if your fruits were not refrigerated to ensure your smoothie is well chilled.

6. Step

Blend until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately, garnishing with a few mint leaves for extra freshness.
